My only theory would be a flashback with Captain Montgomery. That'd be a wonderful surprise!

My automatic thought was the movie Rear Window, but maybe I should read it again to see if I missed something.

How did you know those two words were 'rear' and 'window'?

And yeah, I thought it was about the movie too. Which would mean one of them (I'm guessing Castle) witnessed a murder while home sick/injured?
