Avatar actor Joel David Moore also has joined the cast of Randall Miller and Jody Savin’s feature film project revolving around the seminal New York rock club.

Castle star Stana Katic and Avatar actor Joel David Moore have joined the cast of CBGB. Alan Rickman is starring as Hilly Kristal, the founder of the club. The movie is in the midst of assembling a large supporting cast with actors portraying real-life figures and rock and rollers.


Katic will portray Genya Ravan, a rocker and producer who was the lead singer of pioneering 1960s rock band Goldie & the Gingerbreads, which many say was the first all-female band to have a recording contract.

"I had never done Shakespeare before," Fillion told Collider. "I actually tried to chicken out of it... I had to work a lot of late nights for Castle and there was just so much dialog, too much to memorize."

Fillion went on to explain that he even asked whether Whedon could find a replacement for him, at which point the director told him to "relax"

1. It's About Time Award: It always takes a near-death experience to remind you what's important in life, right? After Beckett nearly plunges to her death on Castle, she sits in the rain and thinks about blowing up at Castle earlier for secretly investigating her mother's murder, before heading to his apartment. "What do you want?" he asks. "You," Beckett says, right before going in for a kiss that Caskett fans have waited four long years to see. They engage in a hot-and-heavy make-out sesh — complete with Castle caressing the bullet scar on Beckett's chest — before moving into the bedroom. And yes, they do get it on.
